Alright, here is the first in a series of prologues for my rewritten series. This is the new Prologue for Lines of Destiny.
I'm having trouble updating my pages graphically speaking, so it may look a bit weird for a while. I'll also be relesing two very different prologues for Differing Powers. Reader response will determine which version (perhaps both) I will continue. Look for my other fic prologues (there should be between 3 and 5) during the next two weeks.

I'm not dead yet!
My transition to a new OS left my computer a bit fuzzed - sorry - that and the twelve gazillion papers I had to write for a local paper. Demanding bas(cough) people, they are... :P
The good news (you mean there are some?) is that I should have first parts ready soon, especially on LoD, DP and another new fic. Look for the first one this weekend unless Murphy's Laws decide to make a surprise appearance.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Ever-Damned Lazy Bastard Has Returned. I'm very sorry for the hundreds of unanswered e-mails - I had a small burnout a few months back and it left some very insidious habits. I'll try and answer as many as I can.
I lost my job in November and found an even tougher one, but more rewarding, by mid-December 2001. Nice Christmas gift, I suppose. :-P
But...
I'm comin' back, folks, after what amounts to a one-year or even plus hiatus. The stories will be rewritten, LoD in particular, DP a bit less.
Lines of Destiny was originally written as a small lark. Look where it got me. I still have people bugging me about it. I'm impressed - with them, that is.
Why a rewrite? Well, I've read more than a few Ranma/Sailor Moon crossovers dring the past year and I noticed a very disturbing trend of clichés that were present in LoD, such as Ranma showing off after he gets to Juuban, , killing youma instantly, Ranma being Rei's cousin, and all sorts of other nitpicks.
Of course, one reader told that was because *I'd* introduced those clichés, but I told him to stop drinking so much - I'm not that much of an egomaniac - hell, these clichés were present long before I wrote LoD. Still, after a while, I'd realized I just wasn't happy the way things were going. I thought my approach to be childish. Because of that (and a healthy dose of some recent anime series), I decided to rethink my approach, especially the characterization. I hope you'll like it.
Instead of pumping out 100KB chapters (as fun as they may be for readers), I will be more likely to release shorter, but quicker chapters.
Differing Powers isn't likely to get a large overhaul - as of yet. I'm looking at a slightly darker story set at the *end* of the Ranma 1/2 manga, instead of near Vol. 28. Potential changes could be far-reaching, but hey, stories write themselves; who knows what might happen.
I had personal doubts about a concept that is often (but *not* always) seen in Ranma/WoT crossovers: the fact that Ranma can kick the tar out of every channeler he meets and/or the fact that he can channel both sides of the Power. Not very realistic.
As I stated earlier, the revision might end up being a bit darker in tone (we'll see what develops), but I hope it will be slightly more WoT-like.
A third story I am working on is a bit of surprise. Wait for it.
I also had plans for a Card Captor Sakura/Harry Potter crossover of all things, but that one's still waaaayyyy up in the air. All I can tell you is that it's *not* like most stories I read on Fanfiction.net. It's substantially less fluffy, for one thing. And while I'm on the subject, where the hell do people dig up matches like Eriol/Tomoyo in the CCS cast, anyway? Oh well, I might be harsher because I've read the entire manga and I know how it ends [mea culpa].
Okay, I'll shut up, now.
But at last, I feel like writing again! :)
