Jeffrey "OneShot" Wong Ranma 1/2: Further complications (Opening scene: It is a beautiful Saturday morning. We are in front of the Tendo's home. We see Kasumi sweeping the sidewalk, happily humming to herself. Akane enters the scene from the right, finished with her morning jog. We see Akane and Kasumi engage in a small conversation.) Kasumi:Ohiyo. How was your jog? Akane:Ohyio, onesan. It was great. I haven't felt this good in a long time. Kasumi:(Smiling sweetly)I'm glad to hear that. (As they talk, we see a mailman enter the scene from the left, carrying a letter.) Mailman:Gomenasai, is this Genma Saotome's place of residence? Akane:(Suspiciously)Hai.....Why? Mailman:I have a letter here for a Genma Saotome. Can you please give this to him? (The mail shows Akane and Kasumi a letter, to which Kasumi happily takes hold of.) Kasumi:Domo arigato, we'll be sure he gets it. Akane:Who's this letter from? Mailman:It's from a person named Akiro Anato Kasumi:Hmm, I don't think I've ever heard of that name before. Akane:Me neither.(Turns towards the mailman)Do you know who this.....Akiro Anato is? Mailman:I wish I can tell you more, but that's all I know. Anyway, I better get goin' now, I have a lot of deliveries to make. Sayonora. (The mailman bows and then leaves the scene. Akane looks at the letter suspiciously.) Akane:I wonder who this Akiro Anato is? Kasumi:I don't know. We'll probably find out when we give this letter to Saotome-san. (The two girls open the front gate and enter. In the backyard, we see Genma and Ranma sparring one another.) Ranma:C'mon pop, can't you do any better?(Dodges attacks) Genma:I'm holding back, boy.(Punches) Ranma:(Grins)You must be holding back more than usual. I could beat you blindfolded if you continue on at this rate. Genma:Why you?! (The two combatants leap into the air just as Kasumi calls out for Genma from the front of the house. This, in turn, distracts both Genma and Ranma, causing them to collide in the air and fall straight into the pond. Ranma and Genma surface to the top of the pond in their cursed forms, the former a red-haired female and the latter a giant panda.) Kasumi:(Calling from the front of the house)Mr. Saotome, there's a letter here for you. (Genma, in panda form, casually gets up out of the pond and was about to head for the front of the house until he accidentally steps on Ranma-chan in the process of getting out of the pond. Ranma-chan easily punts Genma into orbit.) Ranma-chan:Suck on that, old man. Humph! (After a few moments, Genma reorbits the Earth's atmosphere, falling straight down ontop of Ranma-chan. Ranma-chan shakes the cobwebs from his head and easily picks the panda up and launches him into one of the walls surrounding the backyard. As Ranma-chan heads into the house for some hot water, Kasumi and Akane exit out into the backyard.) Kasumi:Ranma, have you seen your father? (Ranma-chan gestures to the unconscious panda on the other side of the backyard. Kasumi simply smiles as she heads towards the panda, a letter in her hand. She gently nudges at Genma, waking him up) Kasumi:Mr. Saotome, there's a letter here for you.(Gives Genma the letter) (Genma opens the letter and reads it silently to himself. The camera pans forward for a real close-up of the panda's face. We realize that the visage is that of abosolute disbelief and shock. Ranma-chan notices this and walks up to Genma) Ranma-chan:What's goin' on? You look liked you've seen a ghost. Genma(Panda):(Sweating heavily) (Ranma-chan grabs the letter, knowing that Genma is trying to avoid telling him something he doesn't want to know, yet should know. Akane, Genma, and Kasumi watch as Ranma-chan reads the letter to himself. After a few moments, we see Ranma-chan raise his head from the letter and look at a Genma) Ranma-chan:BAKA(Punts Genma into orbit) (Genma lands in the pond a few moments later, unconscious) Akane:Ranma, you didn't have to do that?! Ranma-chan:Yes I did!? Do you know who this letter's from?! Akane:Yeah, the mailman told me and Kasumi that it's from a person named Akiro Anoto. Who is she? Ranma-chan:Akiro is not a _she_. Akiro's a _he_. Akane:Oh, I thought it was a girl's name. Okay, so who is _he_. Ranma-chan:By what I've just read,_he's_ my fiancee. (There is complete silence for several long moments) Ranma-chan:Here,(Gives Akane the letter)read for yourself. (Akane takes the letter and starts reading outloud. By now, Genma has awaken and went into the house for some warm water) Akane:Dear, Genma Saotome. At last, I have finally found you. You have avoided me for many years, but I never gave up looking for you....or for your lovely son, Ranma. You had an agreement with my father that you would let me marry Ranma when I reach my 4th birthday in exchange for your life. It has been 13 years since that day when you ran of with my beloved Ranma. I will be coming for a visit very soon to deal with you. Signed....Ranma's soon-to-be husband, Akiro Anato. Ranma-chan:I'm gonna kill pops for this. This is too far. Kasumi:Did I hear that correctly? Did your father arranged to have you married to a boy named Akiro? Ranma-chan:Yes. Akane:Do you know this.....Akiro? Ranma-chan:Akiro used to be one of my childhood friends. He was my best friend.....before I even met Ukyo. He always dressed up as a girl, and I truely thought he was a girl, until my dad told me otherwise when I was around 10. At first I was surprised, but it still didn't make me think different of him. Afterall, he lived in a house with 7 sisters. I guess he wanted to fit in with them. Akane:How did this marriage thing come into it? Ranma-chan:I don't really know. Akane:Can you try and explain everything you know again? I think you lost me. Genma:(Emerging from the house in his human form)Let me explain this. Ranma-chan:(Turns towards Genma)You better explain this. (We see a very young Ranma playing with Akiro in a sandbox. We notice that Akiro is dressed like a little girl. Nearby, Akiro's father and Genma are sitting on a bench, talking) Akiro's father:Genma, my friend, I have a favor to ask of you. Genma:What is it? Akiro's father:Remember that day when I rescued you from drowning when we were little kids? Remember you having told me that you owed me one? Genma:Yes, I recall.....quite vividly. Akiro's father:Well, I want to take ya up on that offer. Genma:No problem. What would you like me to do? Akiro's father:I'd like to have my Akiro marry your Ranma. Genma:..................... Akiro's father:You see. Akiro is quite fragile, and I want him.....um....her to live with someone who'll be strong enough to protect....her. Genma:I'm sorry....Ranma is set to marry a daughter of my friend, Soun. I can't do that. Akiro's father:You have to...............you owe me. Genma:....................... Akiro's father:That's all I ask for. Genma:(Crossing his fingers behind his back)I guess it's all right. I'll allow this.(Thinking)I won't really let my boy marry Akiro. I'll just play along so he'll leave me alone. Akiro's father:(Thinking)Heh heh heh..........one down......seven more to go(Begins to talk)Domo arigato. I'll arrange to have them marry tomorrow....on Akiro's 4th birthday. Genma:......................... Akane:Chotto matte. Ranma, if you were supposed to marry him on the next day....how did you manage to get out of it? Ranma-chan:I think I know how.......... (We see Genma walking down a dirt path towards a destination unknown, a very young Ranma on his shoulders) Genma:Ranma, my boy, can I ask you something? Ranma:What? Genma:What do you think about Akiro? Ranma:I like her. Genma:Do you like her enough to marry her? Ranma:Marry? What's 'marry'? Genma:(Gets an idea)Nevermind about that. It's not important. All I want you to say is 'I don't want to marry Akiro' Ranma:I don't want to marry Akiro. Genma:(Smiles)That's my boy. (After hearing those words, we see Genma head down the dirt road in a much faster pace, getting smaller and smaller as he gets farther away. After a few moments, he is gone) Ranma-chan:Is that what you meant by askin' me if I want to marry Akiro?! Genma:(Meekly)I was doing it for your own good. Ranma-chan:BAKA! I didn't even know what marriage meant back then! And why did you arrange to have me married to him anyway!(Splashes Genma with water and punts him into orbit) (Somewhere in Nerima. Walking down one of the streets there is this goregous blond goddess of a woman. She seems to be looking for someone. All the male passerbys seems to be paying a lot of attention to her, some of them bumping into parking meters and lamp posts. She seems to be calling for someone.) Shioni:Akiro my love, where are you? (The camera pans back to show a boy hiding in one of the alleys, out of sight from the lovely girl. We realize this is Akiro.) Akiro:(Thinking)Chikusho, how did Shioni know I was coming here? Oh well, once I get married to Ranma, she'll leave me alone.(Smiles inwardly to himself)Oh Ranma, how I've waited so long to be with you. (After a few moments, Shioni rounds a corner and disappears. With her now gone, Akiro makes a break for it, heading straight towards the Tendo's home. Little did he realize that Shioni had spotted him and only pretended she had rounded the corner. She stealthily follows Akiro towards his destination) (It's now Saturday night. We are in front of the Tendo's home. We see a handsome young man enter the scene from the right. We realize that it's the same person we saw early, Akiro. In his hands, he's holding a dozen long-stemmed rose.) Akiro:Oh Ranma, at last, we can finally be together. I'm sorry to have stopped writing right when everything was starting to get interestig. I wanted to keep the parts short......like my Least one can do series...Shamless plug ;) Anyway, I hope this is interesting enough that you would want me to continue this series. I have several ideas of the direction I want this series to go but I won't assure you that I'll stick to the ideas for I tend to write as I go along. I know it seems a little odd to have a homosexual in a Ranma fanfic, but I can't recall ever having seen a fanfic with one so I hope I can be the first. I just wanted to be creative. Also, I want to create a character worthy of Rumiko's creativity. I hope I could achieve this. This Akiro will definitely be odd and wacky like the others. Anyway, just imagine the anarchy that this guy'll create. What will he do when it comes to Ranma's other fiancees? Well...I hope you're enjoying this so far.
