Jeffrey "OneShot" Wong Just Won't Die Final Spinoff Jun yawned as she got up and sat upright in her bed. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as she took a glance at the clock that hung on the wall. It read 10 am exactly. That meant she had two hours before she was expected to meet Ranma in front of Nerv Headquarters. She sat in bed for ten minutes before she was finally wide awake. Once awake, she got up out of bed and grabbed a pair of clothes from her suitcase and headed for the bathroom across the hallway. She took her time taking a shower and eventually emerged when it was just a little later than half past ten. She went downstairs where she headed into the kitchen to fix herself some breakfast. She had ate some cereal and a bannana, figuring that was enough to keep her busy until lunchtime. She assumed that she would probably be eating with Ranma again one last time before he headed back home so she might as well save her appetite. When it was eleven, she turned on the television to see how the weather was, happy when she found out that it was going to be a beautiful sunny morning and afternoon with only a chance of rain later that evening. At around ten after eleven, she headed out for the bus stop to take the bus to Nerv Headquarters. She figured she would get there with about fifteen minutes to spare. She didn't mind waiting. She would rather wait for Ranma instead of having him wait for her. She didn't want him to think of her as independable. As she sat quietly on the bus, she wondered how Ranma's visit the the museum had gone the other night, if he had found out anything informative. She also wondered when Ranma planned on heading back home. Was he going to stay and eat some lunch with her or leave right away? "Gee, why am I so preoccupied with him all of a sudden?" she bonked herself a few times in the head in embarrassment. Several people on the bus noticed this and gave her an odd look. Jun blushed, as she sat lower in her seat, wishing she hadn't done that. She sat quietly for thirty minutes before finally arriving at the bus' final stop, Nerv Headquarters. She stepped off the bus and was surprised to see Ranma already standing in front of Nerv Headquarters' main entrance. About a dozen other people also stepped off the bus right behind her. It seemed they were interested in touring the place also and that she and Ranma weren't the only ones. "Oh, you're here already," she commented. "I've been here all night," he said. "What? Where did you sleep?" "I didn't sleep," he said. He showed no signs that he was tired, "I just waited right here," "Really?" He nodded. Jun regarded Ranma for a moment. She noticed he was now wearing a different outfit and that it looked really well on him. She liked how the cargo pants showed off his slim waist and how snugly it hugged his body. She made sure she didn't stare too long as to not make Ranma suspicious. However, as she looked at him, she had to admit that he was a very handsome person and that that outfit looked good on him. "What?" he asked. "Oh, n-nothing," she quickly said, turning her gaze away and blushing when she realized she had stared for too long. "Since we're both here early, let's go in now then," he suggested. "S-sure, I don't see a problem in that," She and Ranma entered Nerv Headquarters via the open front entrance. They all followed the dozen of other people down this long tunnel. It resembled that of a highway tunnel through a mountain but with another large double door entrance at the other end. They walked up to a long security guard standing in front of the door. "You're all here for the tour?" the guard asked. Everyone seemed to nod or give one word answers. When the guard realized that everyone was there for the tour, he told them to follow him and entered the base via the single door located on left double doors. Once inside, several people whistled as they realized they were in what seemed like a corridor with a hundred foot ceiling. On both sides all the way down the corridor were large iron doors that probably led to room unauthorized to civilians to this date. Everyone waited around with the guard for around five minutes before a middle aged woman wearing a grey outfit with a knee length grey skirt. "Hello, my name is Mairi," she said in a soft voice, "I'll be your guide. Please, follow me," Everyone including Ranma and Jun followed quietly behind. "Welcome to Nerv Headquarters, the base of operations in humanity's battle against the Angels, a war deemed 'Angel Wars'," she said in a nice voice. The woman walked down the vast corridor explaining of Nerv Headquarter's role in the 'Angel Wars'. She told of how it used EVAs to fend off the Angels, of how two of the three EVAs were derived from a part of Adam while Unit-01 was derived from the 'superstrain' that had been found in Antarctica. She then went about explaining what the 'superstrain' was. "I've heard all of this before at the museum," Ranma said, a bit annoyed that he was learning nothing new. "Speaking of which, how did it go? Did you learn a lot?" she asked, taking the opportunity to start a conversation with him. She knew about this too and had read of it a while ago. Besides, she wasn't all that interested. She was more interested in learning more about the Angel named 'Ranma Saotome'. "I guess I learned quite a bit," he said with a shrug, "I've probably learned more from that one visit than I would ever learn reading textbooks about it," Ranma suddenly started paying attention to the tour guide again as she went about mention of the names of the pilots of the EVA units. "Hikari? Kensuke? Toji? That sounds vaguely familiar," he commented, trying to think hard where he had heard it before. "I figure it's general knowledge," Jun commented, "They're mentioned in all the textbooks," Ranma shrugged, "Perhaps," The guide asked that everyone follow her into the main control room. Once inside, she talked about how the MAGI was the central processing unit of the entire headquarters. She went about telling of how after the 'Angel Wars' the creator went on to create a consumer version of the MAGI. All in all, the guide was retelling of information Ranma had heard the other day. From time to time, the guide mentioned of little details that Mitsumi, the girl who helped Ranma tour the museum, had failed to mention and vice versa. Ranma found the tour mostly a waste of time. However, it wasn't until the last portion of the tour that made it seem somewhat worthwhile when the tour guide allowed everyone to listen in on one of the recordings of a battle against an Angel. Although it did nothing to help Ranma learn more, it did sound a bit exciting. At the end of the recording, the tour was concluded and everyone led back to the front entrace where a bus was already awaiting for departure. When they stepped out of the base an into the sunlight, it was already two thirty in the afternoon. "Wow, that tour was over two hours long," Jun commented. "It seems so," Ranma didn't really see the significance in that comment. "Um, so, what you you wanna do? You want to go get some food?" she asked, a bit hopeful. She was hungry and was actually looking forward to eating lunch with Ranma. He wasn't all that bad of company and it sure beats eating alone. "Not really," he said. Jun felt a bit disappointed. She had a funny feeling he was going to say that. However, she wasn't going to give up. "C'mon, let's go get some lunch," she suggested. "I said I'm not hungry," he replied coldly. "C'mon," she persisted. Ranma gave her an odd look. Was she deaf? He said he wasn't hungry. However, after a moment, he started wondering if perhaps she simply didn't want to eat alone. There didn't seem to be any harm in accompanying her even though he wasn't hungry. "I guess I can go grab a bite to eat," he said after a moment of pondering. Jun smiled, "That's good to hear," She glanced over toward the bus. She then looked up at the sky and noticed how beautiful it looked. She wondered if Ranma wouldn't mind walking back to two. Sure, it was a pretty long walk, but she was pretty sure it wouldn't be all that bad, provided she wasn't walking alone. "Um," "What?" he asked. "You want to walk back to town?" she asked, "I know it's a pretty long walk, but it's a really nice day out. How about it?" "Isn't it enough that I'm going out to lunch with you?" he aske coldly, "Now you want to walk?" "Well, since you're not hungry now, perhaps you'll be hungry by then," she persisted. She felt a bit hurt that he seemed hell-bent on avoiding her. However, she was starting to get used to it. Ranma wasn't purposely trying to avoid her. It was simply the way he is. Ranma was about to mention that he never really got hungry so it was useless but he had a funny feeling Jun wasn't going to listen. It was best to simply forget trying to convince her. He looked up at the sky. It was a pretty nice day out. Perhaps walking wasn't all that bad. He was also curious to see the stores along the way back to town that were closed that night while he was on his way to Nerv Headquarts. "Fine," he said with a sigh, "I'll walk," "So, what did you think of your visit to Nerv Headquarters?" Jun sked. She and Ranma were walking down the street together for the past hour, chatting about nothing in general. They were finally nearing the heart of the city. It was a bit late in the afternoon and nearing evening. Ranma shrugged, "There was some things about it I found rather interesting," "Like what?" she asked. "Like the final porting of the tour, where we were able to hear one of the recording logs of one of the battles against an Angel. It does me no good, but it was interesting nonetheless," he said. Jun smiled, "I liked that portion as well. Although they were using a lot of techno mumbo jumbo, it soundered very interesting as well. So, where would you like to eat?" "I don't care," he replied, paying no attention toward anything in particular. "How come I had the funny feeling you were going to say something like that?" she said lightly. His cold personality seemed to bother her less and less as time progressed. She wondered for a moment where they should go eat for lunch. It wasn't all that late in the afternoon, but it was just late enough that she didn't know whether it would be considered still lunchtime or early dinnertime. Jun wasn't paying all that much attention to her surroundings and was startled when Ranma's hand grabbed onto one of her forearms and gave her a hard tug, hard enough that it shot a bolt of pain through her shoulder. The sudden motion got her attention as she quickly glanced toward the side just as a car narrowly missed her. "Oh my god," she gasped, her heart racing. She couldn't believe how close she came to having been seriously hurt or even killed. She turned her attention upward toward Ranma. Ranma had this annoyed look on his face. "Um, t-thank you," she said, her voice a bit edgy. "If you had been paying attention, then perhaps I wouldn't have mindlessly wandered right into oncoming traffic," he said, releasing his hold of her as if he hated touching other people as much as he hated being touched. "I'm sorry," she said, calming herself. Ranma let out a breath, "Forget about it," They crossed the street together. As they did, Jun couldn't help but rub at her shoulder which stung a bit. It seemed Ranma had jerked her out of the way a bit harder than she would had liked for her shoulder hurt. Out of the corner of his eye, Ranma noticed this. "If I hurt you," he said, his voice a little less cold than usual, "Then I apologize. I wouldn't have done that if-" "I know," she said, smiling warmly. Figuring it was best to change the subject, she asked, "So, what would you like to eat?" "It doesn't matter to me," he said, "You can choose," "Do you like hamburgers?" she asked. "I have no dislike of it," came the answer. "Okay. I know of a good restaurant around this area," she started off, "I go there all the time whenever I visit here," "If you like that place so much, then why didn't you try and take us there before the other day?" he asked from out of the blue. She said, "Nothing in particular," It only took about ten more minutes of walking before Jun and Ranma reached the restaurant. When she stopped in front of it, Ranma only took a moment's glance toward it before following her in. Once inside, Jun was a bit surprised to notice how many people were inside. "Wow, there's quite a bit of people," she commented. She looked at her watch and noticed the time, "And school hasn't even let out yet," When she noticed all the bunch of kids, it didn't take her long to realize that they must've been high school kids skipping classes and considering this place more of a hang out spot rather than a place of business. "Lettme guess," Ranma commented, "The reason why you didn't come here was because if we did come here after arriving, we would have to deal with all these people," Jun's meek smile gave him the answer. She couldn't believe how much this place had changed. She had known this place would eventually become a hand out spot soon enough but not this soon. This used to be a nice cozy restaurant, nothing like the loud and crowded one it had recently become. "You wanna go eat elsewhere?" she turned to face Ranma. He didn't answer her for Ranma was staring right past her shoulder toward a rather old looking kid sitting in the corner of the restaurant. Jun followed Ranma's gaze. She sighed when she saw the guy. She recongized the person. It was the same high school student she seemed to always see in there. The kid was most likely somewhere around twenty, still in high shool for having been left back so many times. "You've got some kinda staring problem?!" the guy taunted Ranma. Ranma had merely been glancing over his surrounding when his gaze rested on the kid and noticed a rather arrogant look coming from him. Ranma continued to regard the kid. He was sitting in a seat with several of his friends, all of them most likely having been left back a few years as well. The kid, seeing that as a challenge, got up out of his seat. Ranma's gaze didn't waver. By now, the noisy crowd became quiet, everyone having heard the kid's booming voice. The kid, seeing that Ranma was unpreterbed, stood up from his seat. Although they were a whole room's length distance from one another, it was evident that the kid stood a good head taller and probably outweighed Ranma by fifty pounds. "Ranma," Jun said his name, her voice a bit nervous. After a while, Ranma broke his gaze to regard Jun, "Yeah?" "Let's go eat elsewhere," she said. He shrugged, "If this is your favorite place, then I don't see why you would want to go elsewhere," Jun said nothing. However, when she noticed Ranma showed no signs of nervousness over the burly kid still standing and glaring dagers at him, that seemed to calm her for some reason. If Ranma wasn't worried, what did she have to be worried about. "Go order," he said, gestering toward the cashier, a young girl that was regarding him rather nervously. She had the funny feeling in the pit of her stomach a fight was about to break out. When Jun didn't move, contemplating leaving to avoid the situation at hand, Ranma narrowed her eyes, "Well?" "F-fine," she said. She and Ranma walked up to the cashier. Jun recommended a few items to Ranma which he promptly ordered. She ordered for herself. As they waited for their food to be made, the atmosphere of the restaurant seemed to have become less stiffling, the people inside having resumed going about their business shortly after the kid snorted and sat back down in his seat. "What's the dealy, yo, why're ya letting that guy go?" a short kid sitting next to him asked. "Forget about it," came the reply, "The guy knew what was good for him and backed down. If he looked at me for another second, I woulda walked across the room and fucked him up," "Yeah, fucked him up," another kid sitting at the table said in glee. Everyone at the table continued to watch Ranma and the pretty girl that came in with him, wondering what Ranma would do. After Ranma and Jun got their orders, Jun said, "All right, let's go find some seats," It only took a second for Ranma to spot an open seat located to either side of the table where those kids sat, "There are two down over there," He began walking in their general direction when Jun quickly grabbed one of his arms, "Um, how about we not? Those guys look like they're itching to start something with you," "I don't care," he said, "They can go ahead and try," Jun said nothing. She nervously followed behind him as he walked right toward one of the open tables. Just as Ranma was about to walk past the table full of kids, a foot came out in front of his feet and tripped him, sending Ranma falling forward, dropping his foot all over the ground, his drink spilling everywhere and making him wet. All the kids laughed aloud. "Asshole!" Jun snapped at one kid. It was the same kid that had stood up a short while ago. Her nervousness was replaced by anger. Ranma calmly got back up to his feet and looked down at himself. He was now wet and dirty, some of the sauce now on him. His shirt and pants were ruined. After dusting himself off of whatever ruined food that he could, he turned his attention toward the kid that had stuck on his foot. "You did that on purpose!" he sneered. He didn't show anger but more along the lines of annoyance. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't," the kid said, smirking to give full indication that it was the former rather than the latter. After a second, unable to keep a straight face, he continued on laughing. He leaned forward toward the kid as he sat in his seat, their faces inches from one another. Ranma face contorted into a sneer, "If you do that again, I will kill you," The kid's laughing stopped immediately. "What the fuck didja say?" the kid sneered. Ranma didn't bother to reply for her had already turned around and headed back toward the cashier register. Jun stood where she was, speechless and stunned, as she watched Ranma seemingly reordering the food that was ruined. As he walked back toward where Jun was, he stopped in mid stride when he saw the kid ostentatiously stick his foot back on in front of him. Ranma glanced down at the extended leg, then back up at the kid, who was casting him a smirking glance, and then back down at the leg. He turned toward Jun and handed her his food, "Hold this," "Ranma!" she said, remembering some of the things she had seen Ranma doing. The kid stood up to his full height, knowing a fight was going to break out. Ranma turned toward the kid and extended a hand toward the kid, grabbing him by the neck. The kid's eyes widened as he suddenly found himself being hoisted up off his feet. The kid, in a state of panic, lashed out at Ranma, punching him in the face. Unfortunately, it didn't faze Rnma. Ranma cocked his arm back to punch the kid's face in but was stopped when Jun grabbed his arm, the food falling down to her feet as she dropped what she was holding to free both hands to grab Ranma. Ranma stood still, still holding the struggling kid off the ground. By now, the kid's face was slowly starting to change color from lack of oxygen. As he still held him, Ranma turned to face Jun, "Why are you trying to stop me?" "Please, don't," she said in a pleasing voice. A good minute passed before he released his grip, letting the kid back down on his feet. The kid fell down to his knees, gasping for breath. His friends, whom had all watched in stunned silence, rushed toward his side. The kid, after a moment, glanced up, his visage showing utmost malice toward Ranma. Ranma sneered, leaning forward so that his face was inches from the kid's "I dare you to try something," The kid gulped, all his anger draining from his body, replaced by a sense of fear. Jun noticed the fear in the kid's eyes. It bothered her. "Leave, now. And pray that you never see me again," Ranma said, "because if I see you, I won't hesitate to kill you," The kid stood up fo this full height, towering over Ranma, regarding Ranma as he him. His friends glanced back and forth between the two of them. "C'mon, let's get outta here," the kid finally said, knowing it was better to swallow his pride and leave in one piece. His friends called toward him but relucatantly followed, all of them leaving the restaurant. A good several minutes passed in absolute silence before it was finally broken. "Yeah! It's about time someone taught them a lesson!" a young male customer said. It was a fellow student. He tended to cut class every here and there and was glad to have been there to see it. The restaurant bursted out in cheer toward Ranma. "Hmph!" Ranma snorted. The place was even more noisy now than before. He turned toward Jun, who was staring at him. She didn't know what to feel. There was this feeling of absolute awe at what he had done as well as fear at what he was capable of. She was having mixed emotions. Ranma glanced down at Jun's feet where all of the food had fallen. "You dropped our food," he commented. Jun snapped out of her reverie and looked down, "Um, y-yeah, I did," He snorted again, "I'll go reorder then," "Man, that was a good meal," Jun commented to Ranma as they exited the restaurant. Not even an hour had passed. "Tell me, wasn't that good? Didn't that hit the spot?" she asked. "It's okay, I guess," he shrugged, "I have no particular care to like nor dislike food," Jun giggled, "If you think about it, it's as if we were on a date, we had a show and then ate afterwards," The comment caught Ranma off-guard, "W-what? On a date? Us?" Jun blushed. She couldn't believe she had said that. She had gotten a bit too comfortable with the way of things, "Um, n-nevermind," Ranma glanced toward the side where he caught a familiar looking individual. It was the kid that he scared out of the restaurant not an hour ago. Standing next to him was a huge horde of kids. There must have been a good twenty of them. They were all lingering a short distance away, leaning against several cars. It seems like the kid had called a bunch of his friends and those cars belonged to some of them. Jun looked up and noticed the muscles around Ranma's jaw tightening. She recognized that sign. She followed his gaze to where he was looking. The color drained from her face as she saw the large group of kids that seemed to have been waiting for Ranma to come out. "Wait here," Ranma said to her. Without saying another word, Ranma walked toward the group of kids. Jun did as she was told, staying where she was. All she could do as watch in speechlessness. Ranma must be crazy to be approaching all those kids. However, she did notice that some of the kids looked nervous as well, surprised to be seeing Ranma approaching them, even though he was by himself. "Jun," a voice interrupted her thoughts. Jun turned her attention toward the voice. It was her cousin. "Noriko, what are you doing here?" Jun asked a bit surprised. "School let out a short time ago," she replied, "What are you doing here? How was your visit to Nerv Headquarters?" "It was fine," she said, "However, I'll talk to you about that later. Right now, I gotta stop some bad from occurr-" "Hey, isn't that Ranma?" Noriko noticed the man walking away from them. Ranma's distinct pig-tailed hairstyle as well as his well tapered upperbody made him easy to spot. "Yeah," Jun replied, turning around to head Ranma off, "And I gotta stop him before he does something bad," Ranma walked straight toward the group. As he got closer and closer to, the kids leaning against the car got in a ready position, stepping forward so that he was in front of Ranma's path. Jun noticed that among the crowd, she saw several of the kids pull out bats from behind their back, brandishing it so Ranma can clearly see it. Ranma walked right up to the nearest kid standing in front of him. The kid was block his path to the guy he had threatened earlier. Ranma didn't even slow his pace as he continued walking forward, right into the kid, causing the kid to go stumbling backwards and eventually fall down onto his backside. "Get him!" Ranma's target shouted, obviously the gang leader. A bat hit Ranma in the back of his head, sending Ranma staggering forward a few steps. He regained his balance and turned around toward the kid who hit him. He narrowed his eyes. He would take care of him later. He turned his attention back forward toward the leader and continued walking forward. When the kid with the bat tried to hit him again, Ranma reached out and grabbed the bat. He gave the kid a deathlook as he squeeze the bat in his hand, splintering it. When the kid tried to pull it away, Ranma's deathgrip made it impossible for it to even be budged. Ranma ended up losing his grip as another bat stuck in in the back of the head, causing him to stumble forward. Luckily for him, he stumbled forward right into his intended target. He grabbed the guy by the neck and smirked. Attacks rained down on Ranma as he continued to hold the kid. "I told you I'll kill you if I ever see you again!" he sneered. Without saying another word, Ranma turned toward one of the nearby cars and slammed him hard into it. He slammed the guy with such force that the car was lifted slightly upward on two of its wheels. When Ranma let go, the kid fell to the ground, dead, most of the bones of his body broken. "Holy fucking shit!!!" one of the kids shouted. Immediately, all the kids scattered. Ranma turned his attention toward that kid that had first struck him with a bat. He saw the kid quickly jump into one of the nearby cars. "You shoulda ran while you could," Ranma sneered. He grabbed the car's rear bumper just as the kid slammed on the accelerator. Smoke started pouring from tires as they spun in place. Slowly, Ranma found himself being slowly dragged as he continued to try and dig his feet into the ground for further purchase. The kid, in a moment of panic, realizing that he wasn't getting anywhere, quickly put his car in reverse and slammed on the accelerator. The sudden change in the car's motion and Ranma's lack of sufficient footing caused him to lose balance. Ranma ended up getting crushed between the rear bumper of the car and the front bumper of the car behind him. The car behind him ended up sliding backwards as the kid continued to hold down on the accelerator, Ranma being crushed between the two cars. The impact caused Ranma to lose his grip on the bumper. When the kid, realizing going backwards wasn't getting him anywhere, quickly put the car in drive again and slammed on the accelerator, sending his car rocketing forward and away. Ranma got up to his feet, annoyed at himself for having lost his grip. He proceeded dusted himself off. "W-w-what the heck just happened?!?" Jun gasped as she rushed up to him. "He is lucky he got away," he sneered toward the skidmarks on the ground before him. He noticed Noriko, who was standing next to Jun, this speechless look on her face. "Oh my god, he's dead!" Jun shouted, noticing the lifeless body of the kid Ranma had attacked. "Good," he muttered. By now, a huge gathering of people were surrounding the area, having stopped what they were doing to see what had just occurred. The sound of police sirens could be heard in the background. "Ranma! Do you realize what you did? This guy is dead!" Jun said, fright in her voice. "Yes, I know full well he's dead," Ranma said, "I warned him but he didn't listen," Ranma looked down at the body in contempt, "I would have killed him in the restaurant had you not stopped me," "B-bring him back," she said.
