Be a pussy, get offended at everything.

I was at Barnes & Noble the other day. I was there to take advantage them like everyone else. You know what I mean, to read some manga graphic novels because I didn't want to buy 'em. I was also there to check out if any new game magazines or such came out. Anyway, I go there every couple of weeks or so and stay there several hours reading entire graphic novels and such. Why I was there is besides the point. While I was there, I came across this Jewish boy. The boy looked to be around 10-15. I can't really tell, all White people look alike to me and I can't distinguish their age. Should I not say that? Am I being offensive or racist here toward White people because I say they all look alike? First off, before you flame me for being racist, let me point something out to you....I hate everyone equally. Besides, the same occurs for me and Asian. How the fuck can Asians tell each other part because I sure can't and I'm Asian? Moving on along, I think this boy was Jewish to me since he has was wearingthat skullcap that looks like beanie hat sans helicopter blade on his head. What the hell was it called? Yarmulke? No need to email me about the correct word since I know how to pronounce it but don't know how to spell it. I already look like an idiot to everyone reading this and wanna seem less idiotic and don't wanna put up a misspelled word.

The boy was with his mom. I guess that must mean he's more around the age 10 than 15 since he's accompanied by his mother. Who cares. The boy seems to be into manga because he was looking through the manga graphic novel section of the bookstore. I was there as well, looking for if any new manga graphic novels that had come out that I hadn't read yet. The boy was searching through many manga titles, like Battle Royale (He put it back when he noticed it was wrapped in plastic wrap since its a very graphic title, pun intended), Sailor Moon (WTF is a boy picking up SM manga? Maybe it's for his sister), Ranma 1/2, Tenchi Muyo, and other novels. The mother seemed to be impatient and expressed a few times that she wanted her son to hurry up and pick up the graphic novel of his choice so they could be on their way.

The boy chose to pick up Blade of the Immortal: Blood of a thousand. That's a good choice I like that manga series. Anyway, the cover was pretty graphic looking and seemed to have caught the mother's curiosity as the book's contents because she asked to take a look at it. When she scanned through it, she was instantly appalled at what she saw. What was it? The constant dismemberment of the hapless opponents to the lead character, Manji? The swearing that can be found in the book? No. She was offended when she saw the 'swastika' that the lead hero wears on the back of his outfit. Of course, it never seemed to occur to her that the book takes place in a setting that is before the time of pro-Nazi and anti-Semitic meanings. How did I know this? Because she turned toward me and pointed it out.

The back of Manji's outfit.
It is counter-clockwise because the manga is mirrored, to accomodate people reading left-to-right.

I don't fucking care if it offends you or not. I'm there to read manga, not be bothered by your ignorance. Anyway, I decided to give her some of my time. She simply pointed out the swastika on the 'comic book' her son showed her, as if needing to justify to me why she acted in an outrage like that while I was nearby. First off, I told her that she should refer to the 'comic book' as a graphic novel, or preferably, 'a manga graphic novel'. I then went on to tell her that she should read the beginning of the book because it explains the meaning of the swastika and its meaning.

She didn't bother to read it. Instead, she simply put the graphic novel back on the shelf and grabbed her son and headed off outta the store. It probably took me around five seconds before I shrugged and went back to reading my graphic novel. I think it was Battle Royale (I ripped the wrapping off because I don't give a shit if I should or not. I also do the same for all wrapped magazines. I hide the wrappings in the folds of the cushions of their couches). In one of the many magazines I was reading, I read about how Coca-Cola was promotion their drink in Hong Kong by shipping coke bottle caps with the character Robocon on them and one of the robots had two swastikas on its chest. It told of how it was removed from the market when this Rabbi noticed those swastikas and condemned Coca-Cola for promotiong "the wholesale slaughter of six million". That pissed me off. After reading that, and also recalling the incident with the mother and her son, I decided I should write this rant when I got home. Had that not occurred, I wouldn't be writing this.

Coca-Cola robot that seems to offend people.
Forget it seeming Pro-Nazi. What's with the hand on his crotch?

Man, I wish Hitler used the cross instead. That way, we won't have people that are offended of a symbol like they are of the swastika symbol today. Afterall, that's already been proven. Many people died because they did not believe in the person the Christians worship. And let's not forget about those who lost their lives in the Crusades, and the Inquisition, and those glorified witch hunts and murderous displays of faith, all on account of the Christian faith. You should take note that, considering the population of the Earth during the Crusades as opposed to World War II, Christians killed approximately twice as many people as Hitler percentage-wise. It's odd how a man walking the streets wearing a cross is not bothered while a man with a swastika is considered a Nazi. Am I gonna go walking around with a 'good swastika' on my back to prove a point? Of course not! I'm not stupid. I don't wanna be murdered by dumb fucks that mistaken it like the dumb mother did. There are shitloads of morons out there like that mother and the odds would be against me. I like living and don't wanna die just to prove a point that there are a lotta dumb fucks out there.

It pisses me off how people get ignorantly offended because they assume something without knowing all the facts. They're the kinda people that get offended at everything. I'm glad I know several people that aren't like them. I have a good friend that once visited a different country. I remembered he offered someone in his tour group a cracker and the guy said "No, Fag". Now, if my friend was like one of those dumb fucks that get ignorantly offended, he would've been offended and said something or perhaps punched the guy's lights out. What did he do? He let it slide because he is more open-minded than lots of people out there. Shortly after that, he found out 'Fag' stood for 'cigarette'. The guy had basically answered that he didn't want a cracker my friend was offering because he had a 'fag' instead. People like that mother get ignorantly offended at crap. It's bullshit is what I think.

wrote this rant specifically to piss off people much like that damn mother because I feel good pissing off people like that makes my pathetic existence more worthwhile.

Anyway, I can't stand people who get offended easily. Heh, you people offend me!
