No, that is not YOUR car.
How many times have you been with a friend and your friend spots a car that looks identical to the car he drives and he goes 'Hey, look, that's my car'? Or perhaps heading somewhere and spot someone driving a similar car and he goes 'Hey, look, he's driving the same car I drive'?
This doesn't even hafta apply to just cars. It could be to basically anything, be it clothes, electronic equipment, etc. It could be just as easily used for something like you and your friend watching television and your friend spots a celebrity that happens to wear the same shirt as your friend and you friend mentioning that.
To all those people that go "Hey, look, that's the same
And why the hell do you people acknowledge something like this? What's your reasoning behind it? Do you seek acceptance in society and feel good that you're not the only person in the world that bought said car? Do you want to be just like everyone else?
My friends do this all the time, and all the time, I answer in the same way.
Friend: Hey, look, that's my car.
Me: So? And for your information, that's not YOUR car.
YOUR car is parked elsewhere.
Friend: I just wanted to point it out that it's the same color and make as my
car.
Me: So?
Friend: I'm not the only one that has that same car.
Me: So?
It's basically me going "So?" several times to show my obvious disinterest in such a subject matter. Unfortunately, my friends don't seem to get the picture. The point at which I'm getting is WHO FUCKING CARES? Really, I don't care if someone else drives the same car as you. My parents have a tan-colored Camry. Gee, how fucking annoying do you think I would be to people if I point out EVERY car that looks like my parents car? Really, what's the point in pointing something out? Man, next time someone says that to me, I'm gonna find out if some pedophile or serial rapist or such drove a car of the same make and model so I could point it out and see how he responds.
That's why I love talking smack to vegetarians when they proudly proclaim they're vegetarians. I would say "So what? Hitler was a vegetarian also". It's funny how people seem to gloss over the 'bad' people they have things in common with yet only look at the 'good' people they have things in common with.
That kinda reminds me of those people with those John 3:16 signs. The person that originally started it is a goddamn crackpot. Now, if I point that out, the people would most likely go "So? What does that have to do with me?". Well....if they don't give a shit, what makes them think I give a shit in return?
You need to understand that you're not special. Pointing out that other people drive the same kinda car as you MEANS NOTHING TO ME!!!
And, no, that's is not YOUR car!
