Jeffrey "OneShot" Wong It was the year 3476 when all humans were wiped off the face of the Earth and all the space colonies in surrounding planets, for that last human had undergone genetic enhancement, making their right to be called human void. Humans gave up their humanity when they started toying with the blueprint God had given them. They lost their potential to become a higher lifeform when they genetically altered their DNA. Although born with inhuman strength and thinking abilities, the superhumans were doomed to remain nothing more than superhumans, never able to progress in their humanity and evolve into a higher lifeform. Although every superhuman looked human and acted human, they had no right to consider themselves human anymore. Two humans had come close to evolving to another lifeform, but they had died of old age well over a millenium ago. One human was called Ranma Saotome. Having died at the age of 300, Ranma had reached omnipotent powers, rivaling that of small countries. Only one other human came close to rivaling his powerlevel, and his name was Ryoga Hibiki. He, too, had died at the age of 300, for Ranma and Ryoga had killed each other. Together, although enemies, they had come so close to harnessing god-like powers that they only needed a few more years of training to reach their full potential. The entire human population had been terrified of their extreme power that they had even gone to war against the two, never coming close to beating one of them, let alone two. And now, the year is 3505 when these so called humans, who were suposed to brilliant due to genetic enhacements, were stupid enough to actually resurrect Ranma and Ryoga, arrogant enough to think they could control them. That was their first mistake. Also, they hadn’t given them genetically enhanced bodies, thinking they would be even more powerful with those bodies, thus, they were given human bodies. That had been their second mistake. Akane checked the computer terminal. All reading were within expected functioning parameters. She was the head of reasearch and development of Nanotech, the most technologically advanced research facility in the known solar system. As she peered at her screen, she couldn’t believe the brass upstair had decided to actually resurrect Ranma and Ryoga. Hadn’t history taught them a lesson? And to think, that one of the people being resurrected could have been one of her ancestors. It had been past down in her family for many many generations, that one of her ancestors had been once betrothed to Ranma Saotome. All she could remember hearing from her great grandmother was that their ancestor, who was also called Akane, had never married Ranma because Ranma had a curse and had set out to goto China to cure his curse, but he had never returned, only to show up several decades later, when her ancestor had gone on with her life and married and had children. Ranma opened his eyes. Where was he? He noticed he was in a large, glass, tube-like structure and was surrounded in this green liquid, wires attached to several parts of his body. He was almost nakes except for the tiny loin cloth covering his lower region. He peered through the glass and noticed he was in a weird looking room with these huge looking computers, many people walking around wearing white lab coats. "Hey, what’s going on here?" he tried to say, but the liquid in his lungs prevented him. He raised an arm and tapped on the glass and mouthed, "Hello?" Akane’s heart jumped. Ranma was awake! Oh no! "Go get security!" she yelled at one of the technicians, "And fast! We don’t want to take any chances of him getting out and running away!" One of the technician did as he was told. Ranma didn’t like being enclosed in a tight space. Without thinking twice, Ranma jabbed an index finger right through the six inches of transparent steel he was encased in. The liquid started to pour out the tiny opening. "Oh no!" Akane started to panick "He’s getting loose! We had to stop him somehow!" Ranma casually punched the wall and it broke, all of the green liquid flooding out onto the laboratory floor, him also. He quickly got to his feet, shivering, coughing a few times to get rid of the liquid in his lungs. He got to his feet and said, "Jeez, it’s freezing in here!" He closed his eyes for a second said a quick word, and then almost immediately, a red aura formed around him. He stopped shivering. "Where am I?" he asked to no one in particular. Akane was very silent. What was she going to do? She then came up with an idea. She realized that Ranma didn’t have nearly the knowledge as her. In a way, compared to anyone, Ranma was incredibly stupid, even more stupid than a newborn infant. "You’re in a laboratory" she said, matter-or-factly. Ranma turned to face the young girl. When his eyes caught hers, his eyes widened. "Akane!" he said, his voice almost husky. He ran forward and hugged the young girl "Oh god, how I’ve missed you" Akane remained silent. How did he know her name? "I’ve missed you so much!" he continued to hug her. Without thinking, he placed his hands his hands behind her back and pulled her toward him, kissing her passionately. Akane blushed. Never had something like this happened to her. She had lived a dull and meaningless existence. The most excitement she had ever had was curling up and reading a scary book on a Friday and Saturday night. The warmth of his body and kiss was unbelieveable. Even though she was wearing a sweater and labcoat, she could feel his bodyheat. At that moment, the other tube-like sturcture broke, a green liquid gushing out. Oh no, she thought, the other subject is awake. Ranma turned around and gazed at the objected that flooded out onto the floor. His eyes widened when he realized it was Ryoga. "Ryoga?" he said, "Whatcha doing here?" Akane sighed. She was grateful that the two wouldn’t attempt to kill each other. She was so grateful that the higher ops had taken DNA samples from a museum several years before Ranma and Ryoga’s death. If it had been from their remains, they would have remembered killing each other. "Ranma!!! Die!!!" Ryoga said, lunging forward toward Ranma. Akane started to panic. She had heard of their fights. They could destroy small countries in the process. Surely, she would die if they fought now. Her life flashed before her eyes. "Hey, Ryoga, check it out, it’s Akane" he said, not once bothered by the fact that Ryoga wants to kill him. "A-Akane?!" Ryoga asked, his eyes on Akane. At that moment, several security personel entered the lab. They were these huge cyborgs who were more machine than human, with artifical arms and legs that gave them superior strength and speed. "That’s them!" the techician spoke to before said. They charged Ranma and Ryoga, intent to subdue him. The security team was the one that was subdued. Ranma and Ryoga both faced Akane, waiting for her to say something. Akane realized what was going. Ranma and Ryoga both thought she was the Akane she had been named after. At that moment, she realized that she must look a lot like her ancestor than she realized.
