Jeffrey "OneShot" Wong Ranma 1/2: Too Late Note:This is the script format of Too Late. If you read the story version, you'll know how the ending is. (Opening scene: A nice view of the Nekohanten from the outside. It's pretty late into the evening. We are taken inside where we see Mousse and Shampoo talking. Cologne is nowhere in sight.) Mousse:But Shampoo, why won't you go out with me? Shampoo:Shampoo no like Mousse, that's why. Mousse:Why do you dislike me so much? Shampoo:Shampoo only like Ranma. He defeated Shampoo. Mousse:But there must be another way I can win your heart? Shampoo:No....There no other way. Mousse:(Sigh)Then I shall fight you to prove myself.(Gets into stance) Shampoo:(Smiling and then getting into her stance)Mousse will never beat Shampoo. Mousse:Yes, but I will try. (Mousse lunges at Shampoo with a weapon, who easily jumps over him and lands behind. Mousse turns around only to have his glasses knocked off by a well placed kick. Mousse falls to the ground feeling for his glasses. Shampoo watches and then sighs. Cologne comes down the stairs.) Cologne:What's going on down here? Shampoo:Oh nothing great-grandmother. Mousse think he can beat Shampoo. Cologne:Well. Please keep it down. I'm trying to rest. Shampoo:(Embarrassed)Shampoo sorry great-grandmother. Cologne:That's quite alright.(Goes back up) (Shampoo grabs a glass of water from nearby and splashes Mousse with it) Mousse(Duck):Quack. Shampoo:(Grabbing Mousse by the neck)Mousse sleep in cage tonight. Mousse:(Trying to shake free)QUACK! (Shampoo walks into the kitchen with Mousse by the neck and puts him in the cage.) Shampoo:(Smiling while looking the cage)Mousse should have learned by now. Mousse:Quack. Quack. (Shampoo leaves the kitchen and proceeds to clean the dining area to close up. As she cleans, she thinks about Mousse.) Shampoo:(Thinking)Mousse never beat Shampoo.(Puts chairs on the tables.) Mousse sweet for trying though.(Empties the cigarette trays into the trash can.) Mousse never learn.(Locks the doors.) (Shampoo goes into the kitchen and shuts the lights. Before she goes upstairs to sleep she looks at Mousse.) Shampoo:Goodnight, Mousse.(Shut the lights and heads upstairs) (Mousse, in his cage sighs and looks out the window across the room. He rests his head against his body as he looks. After a few minutes of looking, he cries himself to sleep like every other night.) (Later that night, the trash can that Shampoo threw the cigarettes into catches on fire. Shampoo is awaken by Cologne.) Shampoo:(Half asleep)What is it great-grandmother? Cologne:We must get out fast. There is a fire downstairs. Shampoo:(Now awake)What? How do we get out? Cologne:(Points towards the window)We will leave through the window. (Shampoo and Cologne both jump out the window to safety. They watch from a distance as the Nekohanten goes up in flames. After a few minutes, fire trucks arrive to put out the flames. One of the firemen walks up to Cologne and Shampoo.) Fireman:Are you two alright? Shampoo:Hai. Cologne:We got out just as the fire started. Fireman:Is there anybody else in there? Shampoo:(Realizing Mousse was still in his cage)Mousse! Cologne:Mousse is still in there?!? Shampoo:I must go in and get him. Fireman:(Grabs Shampoo by the arm)Hold it. I can't let you back..... (Before the fireman can finish his sentence he was punted away. Shampoo runs back into the Nekohanten. A few minutes later, she emerges with Mousse tucked in her arms......he is not moving.) Shampoo:Mousse! (We are now at the hospital. Shampoo, alone is in the waitingroom obviously worried. A doctor walks up to her to tell her of Mousse's condition.) Doctor:I'm sorry to say this, but your friend is in very serious condition and will most likely not live through the night.(Waits a minute)Would you like to go see him? (Shampoo nods. She follows him to Mousse's room, located in the intensive care section of the hospital. Inside, we see a good portion of his body is bandaged up. There are tubes stuck everywhere on him. You could barely recognize him due to the burns. Shampoo slowly walks up and looks at him. She sits by his side, hoping that he'll be ok. The doctor leaves her alone. She stares at the unconscious figure before her. She places her hands over her hands and begins to cry.) Mousse:(Weakly)Please don't cry, Shampoo. (Shampoo is surprised. Mousse is awake) Shampoo:(Still crying)Shampoo so sorry. Mousse:It's ok.....I'm....fine. Shampoo:Shampoo never meant for this to happen. Mousse:(Softly)I know......... Shapoo:Please forgive Shampoo.(Sincerely)Shampoo very sorry. Mousse:I...know......... Shampoo:(Lovingly)Shampoo don't want to lose you. Mousse:......... Shampoo:Shampoo promise never to be mean. Please get better. Mousse:...I'm...glad...to...hear....that. Don't worry.......I.....will...... besides....I.....would.....never......leave....you. I...love...you. (The doctor comes in and tells Shampoo that someone is waiting for her. Shampoo tells Mousse she'll be back and leaves with the doctor. Cologne is in the waitingroom.) Cologne:(Concerned)How is he? Shampoo:Mousse is fine. He be alright. Cologne:(Relieved)I'm so glad. Shampoo:(Smiles)Shampoo glad too. Cologne:I came to tell you that the Tendos said it's alright to stay at their place for now since we have no place to live. Shampoo:No.....Shampoo stay with Mousse tonight. Cologne:What about Ranma? Shampoo:Shampoo rather stay with Mousse. Cologne:If that's your choice, so be it. I'll see you tomorrow.(Leaves) (Shampoo heads for Mousse's room. As she walks, she is having thoughts.) Shampoo:(Thinking then smiles).....Mousse don't need to fight Shampoo to win her heart. Shampoo think it's time to admit to really loving Mousse all this time. Mousse will be surprised. (Shampoo enters Mousse's room to tell him something. Mousse looks like he's sleeping.) Shampoo:(Softly)Mousse.....Shampoo want tell you something........ (Slight pause) Shampoo:Mousse............I love you. (There is no response from him.......there never will be. He never survived.) (We are now outside, looking at the hopital.
